28-02-2006

“Twee eeuwen leven, wonen en werken in Nederland (19e en 20e eeuw). Een studie op basis van de digitale Nederlandse Volkstellingen 1795-2001”. This is the title of the upcoming conference on 29th September 2006 at NWO in The Hague. This conference will be the final event within the Life Courses in Context project. In 2007 the proceedings will be published in one volume.

Since November 2004, NIWI has published work files of the digitized tables of the Dutch population censuses (1795-1971) on its website. Both individual 1960 and 1970 micro data, and tables of the ‘virtual population’ census of 2001 are available with due regard to some privacy rules. Researchers, who contribute to the congress (book), have free access to all data.

The conference covers the following topics:

  • Population, households and living
  • Social-economic themes
  • Cultural themes
